I wanted to let you know how much the Music Department at McAllister High School appreciates your generosity. The twenty brass instruments your organization donated, as well as the sheet music and recordings, have helped us a great deal. — [1] —. Our school now has enough instruments to instruct 32 pupils at a time. When we last spoke, you were curious about how the students would share the equipment. White Owl Industries

Attention All Staff

We’re making progress with our Corporate Environmental Program! Here are some of the latest details:

Our board has voted to boost funding to reduce the amount of waste our office produces.

Management is pleased that many of you have decided to participate in the Bike to Work initiative. More than half of our employees ride their bicycles at least three times a week.

We have achieved great results by switching to energy-efficient office lighting. We now use 45 percent less electricity, but employees are still reminded to power down appliances, lights, and computers when not in use.

Bins for materials you plan to discard are located in each department’s office area:

  • Regular garbage should be put in the blue trash cans.
  • Materials that can be recycled should be placed in the correct trash can according to their material type. Deposit metal items in the red trash cans. (This includes cans of any size, paper clips, and foil wrap.) Put paper into the green trash cans. Please ensure that all sensitive documents are shredded before being discarded.
  • The blue trash cans are emptied every day. All other trash cans are taken out every other evening.

A recent company poll indicated that employees would like to recycle plastic products as well. We are looking into this and will let you know more at Friday’s meeting.

Together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

Anwar al Falasi

Director of Maintenance

Questions 181-185 refer to the following memo and e-mail.

To: All Staff

From: HR Department

Date: February 3

Subject: Announcement

At the beginning of the year, Sinor Tech added a new policy, Rule 31-4. It introduces dress code guidelines in the office. Please refrain from wearing exercise-related attire (e.g. hooded track jackets or tight leggings) and clothing with graphic elements (e.g. large logos or images) while at work. Also, please avoid wearing hats or sneakers.

We appreciate your attention to the updated policy. Rule 31-4 will help us maintain a professional office environment.

From: HR Department

To: Staff List

Date: February 12

Subject: Poll: Appropriate Office Attire

Attention Staff:

On Friday, Glassoffice researcher Stan Johnson will pay a visit to Sinor Tech to talk with volunteers about their opinions and experiences with casual office attire and the rules in place prohibiting it. He will present research showing that casual dress standards reduce morale as staff complaints to HR occur more frequently.

Mr. Johnson will also be adding to his research by giving an online questionnaire to our staff. The questionnaire should only require five minutes to complete and is optional. Sinor Tech staff who choose to participate won’t be asked for any information that could be used to identify them, and all names will be removed from any published results.

You can fill out the questionnaire by visiting https://www.glassoffice.com/questionnaire.

We value everyone’s input.

Appreciation Bash at Aspentree Country Club

by Erin Keelstone, June 2

Last Sunday, Aspentree Country Club held an exciting Community Appreciation Day. In addition to celebrating 35 years in operation, the occasion was a way to thank the community for its support. The facility opened its doors to members and the public alike during this well-attended event.

Participants were able to listen to top athletes give talks, and T-shirts, notebooks, and pens were handed out by business sponsors. Attendees with a special voucher were able to play a complimentary round of golf with our professional instructors.

Throughout the day, a significant number of people gathered for Mitchell Yorke’s presentations. “I had intended to find out more about the tennis and swimming classes, but I did not expect to be so entertained by Mr. Yorke’s demonstration on how to step to the rhythm of Latin music,” said Wally Jenkins.

Without a doubt, the presentation that gathered the biggest crowd was Olympic champion Ji-hye Lee’s talk on taking lessons at the club’s pool when she was growing up. The audience, which included more than 70 students, was clearly fascinated by the stories of her swimming career. She stayed much longer than scheduled, answering questions and signing autographs.

The badminton competition featuring both singles and doubles matches made all the young attendees very happy. There were treats and ribbons presented by the staff member supervising the games. Aspentree Country Club was so pleased with the turnout that they may make the event a yearly one.

186.
What is Mr. Jenkins encouraged to do?
A. Attend an event
B. Fill out a questionnaire

Mr. Symonds,

I was scheduled to participate in the safety training session on November 11. Unfortunately, I had a severe cold in the early morning and went to the hospital that day. I have a confirmation note written by my doctor and can provide it if required. Please advise if there are any additional actions I should take to resolve the situation.

There are four parts, and directions are given for each part. You must mark your answers on the separate answer sheet. Do not write your answers in your test book. PART 1: Directions: For each question in this part, you will hear four statements about a picture in your test book.
